Impetuous Me

Sadly, no trip to visit Richard at My Old Historic House because the Goose is sick today.  What kind of mother would I be if I made her drive nine hours so Mommy could buy some furniture and visit a blog friend (no matter how awesome the aforementioned blog friend may be)?
So...While Gracie rested on the sofa next to me, I painted my Craigslist fauteuils (Foe-TURs).  Hee hee!  I post the pronunciation each time just to remind myself!
I am not quite finished but I wanted to show you!  I could not stand to look at them with the newness just glaring at me...mocking me!
Before...shiny, shiny, shiny!

After (ish)...

A few more layers of different hued washes, some nailhead trim and on to the next project!  Until I change my my mind again...

  2. Chair is looking great. Good job! I sympathise with your vast bath! I used to have one like that. Took a gallon of water to fill. So not green, and so not practical unless you are a very wide person or like to bath with a few friends!

  7. Love your fauteuils makeover... that's a new word for me so I'm enjoying using it AS IF I knew what it even means?!? *winks* Hope your little one is feeling well soon, sorry you missed your op to shop and meet an awesome Blog Friend, perhaps another time.

Still smiling at your Post to my Blog and you're absolutely right, you can say anything to me. Though the Home was beautiful I did notice a huge dose of narcism... every TV and movie screen in the shots of rooms that had them, had her image on it...*LOL* I don't know, do most celebs watch their own movies and concerts 24-7 on their Home entertainment systems??? *smiles* Beautiful voice, beautiful home... but she made no bones about her OCD and control issues so I guess she does realize and acknowledge those traits in Self and allowed it to come across in print. Amazing attention to detail and for those who adore formal living, I think they would be salivating over every page. Glad my Library had it, but not a book I'll add to my own Library now I've seen it, overall, not my decorating style.

  14. It amazes me the things you find on Craigs List, must be the area you are in! Our Craigs list never has anything worth looking at! I like the paint transformation, looks great, much better than the gold!

  15. What fabulous chairs. Thanks for your suggestions in my sitting room. I'm not sure I understood all you were describing, but am trying some different looks. Did you mean the two smaller horse prints on each side of the large one or side by side above it. These prints are pretty big and they are heavy with the cheap frame out of pressed board. That stuff is so heavy.
