My Dear Friends,
Though I have been quite busy all Summer, working on my home and garden I have no photos to show you. I will, soon, I promise. Part of the reason is that the hard drive on my brand new computer crashed. However, there is a bigger reason. A much bigger reason.
This is where you come in...
My beloved Father-In-Law, Gracies "Papa" is very sick. He was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, a glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive, cruel enemy. The prognosis is dire.
However, he may be a candidate for surgery at the University of Chicago, due to the fact that the glioblastoma has not seriously affected his vision, hearing, balance, etc.
There is hope!
He had myriad tests last week and they decided he would have surgery to remove cystic tissue IF his tumor has not grown during the last several days.
My friends, I am asking, begging you to pray for this dear man.
Please pray that his tumor is of suitable size so that the doctors can go ahead with surgery, that his surgery is successful and that his caregivers are competent and compassionate.
The world needs his dry wit, his loyalty, kindness...
His laugh, alone, is a cure for so much of what ails this world.
He is a Vietnam Veteran, a US Marine. He has known much grief due to his service to our beloved country.
Please pray for him now.
I am selfish. I want him here, with us. God can have him in 20 years or so. I need him. Gracie needs him. My husband needs him. His family needs him.
His name is Michael...and he is loved. Please keep him in your prayers.

Oh dearest Andi,
ReplyDeleteNot only did I stop reading and pray, I continued on reading and prayed again asking for a complete healing, for this tumor to shrink up to nothingness! Letting the strength of many who pray be a testimony to Gods power in pulling him through. We won't claim this tumor, we are giving it to The Lord to handle from here on in knowing his power, almighty powers will see Gracie's Papa through this time. It's only temporary Andie, for the power of when 3 or more come together The Lord will hear and answer all.
I am walling in faith for a healing.
Blessed your family is to have such a man Michael in the family, and will continue to be a big part of your family for a long time.
Blessings and prayers your way.
Xx

ReplyDeleteAndie, I've been wondering about you and now I know where you've been. I don't pray, but I know many who do and will ask for their prayers for Michael. My brother-in-law had the same tumor. I know one thing for sure, Andie. It is all going to be all right.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! You will all be in my thoughts and prayers from this moment on.
ReplyDeleteGod bless!
XO

Here's Hoping Prayers were answered for this Beloved Man and he received the best treatment for battling his illness and a Healing Touch. Prayers also have gone up for the entire Fam as I know what a strain it is having a Loved One who is so sick... Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
ReplyDeleteHi Andi,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to check in and see how you are. Still praying for your family,
Hugs,
Nancy
So sorry to have neglected you for such a long time, Andie. I had no idea until now what you and your family have been up against. Such a fine looking man -- and so pleasant and kind he seems too!
ReplyDeleteI've had some serious problems of my own to deal with lately, but nothing so devastating as cancer, thank God. So far that has been reserved for several close and dear friends, one of who has clung to life for the past nine years by withstanding the terrible punishment meted out by chemotherapy. He's not yet fifty, has six children, and wants to live to see them all grow up.
I hope things have gone well for Michael so far? If you have any news -- good or bad -- I know we'd all appreciate hearing it. We do miss your lively, endearing presence very much,
Try to remember that that Life and Love are ETERNAL. We never die, we only move from one Dimension to Another periodically.
When asked about death Helen Keller said she had no fear of it at all. She said, "It will be like walking from One Room into Another. The only difference in that Other Room, I know, is that I shall be able to see and hear."
Even if Michael should die, he will always be with you, as long as you remember him with love and gratitude for having known him. I know this for a FACT, because it has happened to me several times. The knowledge, wisdom and humor of dear ones who have passed on will come to you at odd moments when you need it most, and suggest solutions to current problems -- or enable you to laugh them away.
May God bless you and Michael and everyone near and dear to you, Andie.

Just saw this, Andie, I hope all is going well. Your absences are felt by your many friends in the blogosphere ... and I will absolutely offer up those requested prayers for Michael. (family is way to important to let them "go gentle into that good night.")
ReplyDeleteI actually stopped by here to send you a link to something that instantly reminded me of your many efforts via Craig's List (sp?). Thought might appreciate this gal and her HGTV show and her website and blog. Below she trolls Craig's List.
