Merry Christmas Eve!

Since we decorate with fresh greenery we don't begin until right before Christmas.
The entry was inspired by the reindeer Handsome Husband bought me for my recent birthday.
We named him Malachi.
The reindeer, not my husband.  He already has a name.

We usually decorate with fresh fruit but these ornaments spoke to me.  They said, "Please let us out of the basement!"

Malachi looks so dapper in his new bow!

The ornaments are shatterproof for cat reasons.

Craigslist urns are filled with faux cedar trees adorned with lights and ornaments!

Our rescue angel, Delores, curious about her first Christmas in her new home.
She was about to be euthanized because they said she was vicious. I begged. They relented.  She has shown no signs of aggression at all.  I think she was just misunderstood.
We call her Delorasaurus because she has growly moments, but she is as sweet as can be.  She is getting used to us and her growly moments have become fewer and fewer. She follows Handsome Husband like a shadow.  She adores every last thing about him.
I know exactly how she feels!

Craigslist clock wears a stole of garland and lights.

Malachi, king of all he surveys...

Merry Christmas Eve, my friends!

See you soon!

  1. You know how to do Christmas like nobody else, Andie. It's absolutely beautiful and lucky you to have such a wonderful gift as Dolores, a very pretty girl.
I always look forward to your posts and I hope there are many more in the new year.

Merry Christmas to you and your Handsome Husband and Gracie and all the little angels who share their lives with you and your family!!

  2. I'm so glad you are sharing your Christmas with us, Andie. Malachi is a most handsome addition to the family –– full of grace, dignity and noble character too no doubt. [Although we don't know what he does in the middle of the night when no one's looking, do we?] };^)>

Adopting a "problem pet with special needs is admirable. I'm sure the love you get in return is worth much more than any inconvenience you may have to suffer while your new friend is adjusting and settling into her new environment.

Your lovely French-style tall case clock looks just like a Society Matron all dressed up to attend a Charity Ball in regal splendor. What fun!

MERRYCHRISMAS, dear girl, to you and to your remarkable, exceedingly fine and fortunate family.

  3. AND NOW A LITTLE CHRISTMAS GIFT TO YOU FROM ME:

    .~.~.~. Yes Santa Exists .~.~.~.

Yes, dear children, Santa Claus is real,
Even though so many don't agree.
    Santa lives wherever people feel
Sweet and kind in all sincerity,
And show their love with understanding gifts,
Not gaudy, foolish, merely costly things.
The gift of Recognition often lifts
A sagging spirit high, and lends it wings.
Elves aplenty fashion tokens bright, as
    Xanadu excursions, jewels and such.
If connected well, these brings delight. As
Substitutes for love, they're not worth much.
The more we spend, sometimes, the less we give.
Santa comes to hearts that love to live.

  6. Andie, it all looks perfect, though you know how much I love your style. Hubby must know it well too to get you that reindeer. It looks beautiful. I too have Mean Mom the cat and though she tried to scratch my eyes out and slapped my glasses off, when I caught her and had her spayed, she was talking and purring around my legs. I just pet her when she wants and read her right. She just isn't a lap kitty, but I love her. Hope you've had the best year and the new one even better.

  9. Joy to the world, the Lord is come.
    Let earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room,
    And heaven and Nature sing.

Joy to the world!, the Savior reigns
    Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks hills and plains
    Repeat the sounding joy.

No more let Sin and Sorrow grow,
    Nor thorns infest the ground
He coes to make His blessings flow
For as the Curse is found.

    He rules the world
    With Truth and Grace
    And makes the nations prove
    The glories of His righteousness
    And wonders of His love.
