Welcome, St. Nicholas!

The garland is hung upon the mantel...
We want Santa to know that he is welcome!

Pine boughs, twinkle lights, fresh pears and pheasant feathers...Can you see McGillicuddy's ears? How about Mabel?  Stealth kitty...LOL!

Mantel detail...

The Madonna and Child print is hung over the mantel temporarily.

Our lions are bedecked in pine boughs, pheasant feathers and lights...

I wish I could leave it like this all year!

One day this mirror will hang over the mantel.  The messy Music Room lies beyond...time for that later.  ;)

The Christmas Tree waiting to be adorned with ornaments on Christmas Eve.

Crown and ostrich plumes alight on top of the tree...

Papier Mach'e shoe ornament, created by my friend, the beautiful and Talented Anita Rivera, Of Castles, Crowns and Cottages...

Another shoe ornament created by Anita!  They are so lovely they needed to be showcased!

I think we have a Christmas ghost!  This chair mysteriously turns toward the table every night, as if a ghostly presence is sitting outside the sunroom, looking in at the tree!

Gracie is counting the minutes to Christmas Eve!

Me too!

  6. Dear, Andie,

Your home is truly a Wonderland. You have transformed it into a castle fit to act as the setting for the finest of fairy tales -- and Gothic romance as well.

I marvel at the way you bring old things together in an atmosphere reminiscent of antiquity while at the same time making each display of artfully arranged treasure uniquely your own.

I can't began to match you in creativity and resourcefulness, but you may see the Christmas tree and hearth at my home -- as it appeared several Christmases ago at the post at FreeThinke's Blog I call "A Christmas Surprise."

I like to think I make up in enthusiasm what I may lack in taste. I've always believed Christmas at my house should be EXUBERANT.

A Very Merry Christmas to You and Yours, Andie!!!

  7. Andie have I told you how much I love your taste in furnishings? Love your Bergere chairs and that bookcase is fabulous! And your tradition of waiting until Christmas Eve to place ornaments on your tree….we’re going to start doing that I love it! I went and looked at your winter solstice post thank you for the mention and I pinned that picture onto my secret Christmas board for next year to do in our home.

OK back to baking cookies and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU, GRACIE, HANDSOME HUSBAND AND ALL YOUR FURRY FRIENDS!

  9. Thank you, thank you, thank you for already having planted some trees between you/neighbor.

I know, I must really get a life, but your neighbor's house, thru your windows must be diluted. Quick.

  14. ANDIE!

I had to take more looks....

I too have a crown on my little white tree and paper feathers with French script on them...you would love them...

Your mantel is divine. The name of your blog is appropriate, for your HOME is just touched with the divine gift of artful love. That mantel has the perfect touch with your relief and lions! And that mirror is really going to look super above it.

Oh my dear, the shoes look great under the cloches! I have my mouse fairy queen under a large cloche as well as a pair of paper slippers that are left over after my sales....

MERRY CHRISTMAS MY DEAR and thank you for everything! Anita

  17. LOOOOOVE your house! So beautiful. Is that sphere on your mantel from Monterey, Mexico, by any chance? My friend from Monterey has a trio just like it. I love that crown on your tree, so elegant, original and beautiful! And fresh greenery makes a big difference.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you and your family and all your furry babies a wonderful Christmas full of love and happiness and the same for 2013!
