Almost There!

Usually, when I find a piece of furniture, I know exactly what colors I will paint it, which hardware will be used, etc.  Not with this secretary!  After much ado, I have made a decision!  I thought the day would never come!

I have decided on the color...finally!  With the help of pixlr I am able to better envision my goal.  The secretary is currently painted in Annie Sloan Coco.  I will repaint the entire piece in Annie Sloan French Linen, including the finials. (It's the best I can do, Betsy! I cannot figure out how to cut them down!)
The grisaille panels will be antiqued so they lose the glare.
This is the third set of posters I bought online! More on that later.
The inside will be painted Annie Sloan Louis Blue and Dark Wax!
I had better get to work!

Once it arrives, (from ebay) this mirror frame will have antique mirror added and then secured under the arch above the doors.

Deciding on which direction to take this piece, including color, was the most difficult part.  Now I can have some fun!
I should be finished soon!

Stay tuned!

  1. This is a beautiful piece, Andie, I can see why you are being cautious in painting it the right color. It sounds like it will be beautiful. I paint so rarely, I just use what I have on hand. Can't wait to see it in all it's glory when you're finished!

  8. If Andie had a paint brush, she'd paint in the morning, she'd paint in the evening ,she'd paint all over the land. She'd paint for freedom, happiness and most of all, she'd paint cause it is beautiful when she is done.Richard from My Old Historic House.

  9. Andie Richard sings it well.
It's going to be divine. If perhaps you don't like it, I have a place it would fit well in over here with me:)

Can't wait to see it finished.

They are so pretty and really add a finishing touch to the top of the piece! Love the posters idea too! Great thinking! Looking forward to seeing the finished piece! Hugs, Leena

  12. wow, ok its going to be great...but i have to say that personally i find louis blue startling bright~maybe mix it with old white first? unless you want that quiet riot on the interior. i love seeing what you are doing. i just redid my cash station in total coco and then did a gold wash over areas of it. I will try to post soon, but I am waiting on an electrician to hang my big french basket chandy I got at auction monday night!! woo hoo !!
