I am a firm believer that one can never have too many armoires, especially if they cost under $200! Sorry for the blurry image. It is the Craigslist photograph.
I don't think I will paint this one but you never know!
Three foot tall, brass lanterns for...$15! I will remove the lacquer and age the metal with apple cider vinegar. These will be hung either over the island in the kitchen or from the 18 foot ceiling in the family room.
Similar lantern from Brooke Giannetti's blog, Velvet and Linen.
Antique French cane chairs for $50 each! The cane is still intact! These are currently flanking Narnia.
Love this! I saved the Craigslist photo to show you how large it is compared to the gentleman holding it! It will go in the foyer or the family room.
Original Craigslist photo of a matching pair of Italianate column side tables. I removed the tops and will be painting them in Annie Sloan Old White with Dark Wax. I have a pair of iron urns to place atop each pedestal.
Restoration Hardware Architectural Side Table, retails for $1095. I bought my pair for $100!
Pair of urns for pedestal tables. Purchased on ebay.
Original Craigslist photo of armoire, almost eight feet high, from the Chicago Hilton. It was very heavy...very, very heavy! It is over 8 feet tall! I will tell you the story of how the delivery person started it on fire...but you will have to wait! This piece was $100!
You will be seeing more of these items as I paint, hang, arrange fuss over them!
That's an impressive list of major deals.ReplyDelete
Way to go!
what a score!
a true treasure trove of goodies and for so little. in your hands these will be incredible
Awesome buys! I love that large lantern, and the chairs. No, the armoire doesn't need paint.ReplyDelete
I love your paint magic you perform on previously loved furniture, but please don't paint that first armoire :-o.ReplyDelete
Armoire, did you say armoire? We have two lovely ones that we will likely never part with. One is rustic pine, and the other made of walnut. Thanks for voting on Rattus Scribus.ReplyDelete
All the best,
I'll stay tuned. Knowing you it will be gorgeous!! I look forward to.ReplyDelete
Oh my goodness!! You hit the mother lode at Craigslist. They are all beautiful pieces and I especially love the huge lantern. Congrats on great finds. Hugs, SherryReplyDelete
I can’t believe all your great buys, I’m jealous. I didn’t know apple cider vinegar would age metal I’ve always used some Drano. Someone started your Armoire on fire? I can’t wait to hear that story or see how you transform all your new treasures!ReplyDelete
Girl you amaze me. I am impressed. Yu should go into business. Love the ornaments by pink cat, perfect for the doll house. I have ordered a ceramic one of Sissy for the front porch, not here yet. There are so many things I would like to get, but have to pace myself. I just finished the wallpaper and floors, have a little more to paint on the outside. I made a base for it with wheels today, that will help. It is fun, wish we were closer I would help with Grace's. I can make curtains or what ever, just send stuff and measurements. Love you, love you lots. Sissy kisses too. Richard from My Old Historic House.ReplyDelete
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW YOU USE THESE IN YOUR HOME! WOULD LOVE TO SEE ROOM BY ROOM OF YOUR HOME AND THE OUTSIDE GARDENS ASLO!I LOVE YOUR STYLE!ReplyDelete

Such amazing finds! You should start a business buying, fixing up and reselling - you might have to once your own home is complete because I think you might be slightly addicted to Craigslist :) x SharonReplyDelete
wow! I cannot believe you found those chairs and the side tables on CL for those prices. Good for you! I love everything you found. Have a good oneReplyDelete
I am AMAZED at what I find on craigslist sometimes...I almost feel like anytime something is cheap compared to the other listings it's always the most amazing find, people don't know what they have and I guess most people just like purchasing 'new'. I am in the works of acquiring a really neat bar style hutch, I'll have to share it if I end up with it. p.s. those lanterns for $15...wow!ReplyDelete
