Dark Chocolate Bark With Lavender and Fleur De Sel

  • 16 squares (1 oz each) dark chocolate
  • 1 cup lavender buds, rinsed, dried and crushed
  • 1 tablespoon of fleur de sel or sea salt
Directions

1. Melt chocolate.  Heat on high in increments of 20 seconds. Be sure to stir the chocolate in between; it will not appear to be melting at first, as the microwave heats it from the inside out

2. Add lavender buds.  Stir until throroughly mixed

3. Pour lavender infused chocolate onto parchment covered baking sheet. Sprinkle lightly with Fleur de sel and lavender buds while still warm

4. Refrigerate until set

5.Break into pieces

6.Send to Andie

  1. Your Lavender recipes are great! I can't eat chocolate but I'm game for the cake! *wink* Yes, I love Vintage Slips too, but alas, being a BMW right now I can't find many in my real Woman size *LOL*... so I'm back to the grind of re-losing that 50 lbs. I keep losing and re-gaining, what a rollercoaster... but I bought the ticket so I'm on for the whole ride! *smiles* Dawn... The Bohemian

  2. Holy Mother of God... I just realized I talked about eating cake and trying to lose weight in practically the same sentence! *LOL* And I wonder why I keep re-gaining that same 50 pounds... go figure... Dawn... The Bohemian

  3. LOL! Dawn, I spit water all over my keyboard!
I saw your photos, you are a beautiful girl. Please don't let the media infect your love for yourself! I worked in the beauty industry for years and I will tell you that it is run by people who hate women but love prepubescent boys. I may get flack for that but I don't care. Look at all your supermodel types and what do you see? 12 year old boys with breasts. I rest my case.
    Now, have some cake, dammit!

  4. LOL, I don't mind my size so much if I could only find fab clothing IN IT! *Pout* But I agree, the industry isn't looking around and seeing that most of us are no longer a size 6! Ironically I spent most of my life naturally very slender and I couldn't find great clothes then either because I was a size 1... and what grown Woman wants to shop in the little Girl's department for fashions?!?! So I've been at both ends of the spectrum in the quandry for great styles in all sizes. But I must say when I'm 50 pounds lighter the arthritis isn't so painful so I'm mostly doing it for health related reasons... I don't find losing all that difficult, it's the MAINTAINING I tend to suck at! *LOL* BTW your e-mail has been disabled... it says it "doesn't like the recipient" so it kicked it back to me!?! *wink*

  7. Well Andie sorry to hijack your post about delicious dark chocolate lavendar bark! Which does look sinfully delish BTW *winks* But I can so relate to Dawn's weight gain! My mom almost died a couple of years ago and I gained 40 lbs from the stress. And I've been wanting to lose that baggage ever since. Like Dawn I've always been a slim person. This extra weight isn't good for my health....Or getting into my vintage clothes.....which I love!

I also totally agree with you Andie. We're being sold a bill of false goods and we DON'T have to buy it! The average woman is a size 12 not a 0 or size 1! It makes me so angry that the message we're being sent is that we aren't pretty enough! I for one am tired of seeing every other actress in Hollywood with trout pout! It looks frightful almost every time! Sorry again....end of rant. Vanna

  8. Vanna...I KNOW My whole childhood people made fun of me because of my big lips...now everyone is buying them! LOL!

  9. You're really lucky to have them naturally Andie!
When they're "bought" they rarely seem to look right (A la Lisa Rinna) There are some extremely good plastic surgeons who can make them look natural, but certain people have small lips for a reason...Because they fit their faces! JMHO so all comments must be taken with a grain (And sometimes a packet) of salt *winks* Vanna

  10. how interesting to bake wit lavender. I never have. I know it has healing properties. I always keep lavender oil handy ,it works great on burns and for the occasional bath.
I will certainly try it in baking now.
