Interesting Craigslist Find

This antique map display found on Craigslist is a unique way to showcase photographs, ephemera, even feathers found on a walk.  What would you use it for?  An idea board with fabric swatches and tearsheets? Jewelry? Flowers?
I think I may use it to place personal photos in my stair hallway...hung on the wall.  Unless, of course, you have a better idea!

  1. A great find! It has some 3D depth (the little shelves). It might be nice to intersperse photos with some memento objects, e.g. baby's first shoes, a grandmother's lace handkerchief, etc.

  2. I am so jealous of this! I agree, it would be fabulous holding photographs and personal artifacts.
Thanks for the note you sent me. I enjoyed reading your profile :)

  3. Andie I'm with the other gals. Maybe an alter of sorts with family pictures and crosses and interesting objects? I know you've got lots of those! *winks* Was it formerly a map display or for tourist brochures? Very interesting piece. I have an old french theater playbill display case that I use for pictures. It's also quirky cool. Vanna

  6. Me again!!! sorry! but thought that if it's not toooooo big it would be gorgeous on a breakfast area with newspaper and loved magazines for a relaxing kind of thing or next to the sofa for the same purpose or if you have an outside music corner on your porch for ex, as i do, it would be very helpful and pretty!
