New Leash On Life!

This is the first in a series of Friday postings.  Feel free to pass them along!  You could save a life!  Each Friday I will choose an animal in need at random.  Lord knows there are millions more!  Pass these on to friends, family and fellow bloggers!  We all know a house just isn't a home without our beloved pets!
If you are not familiar with Petfinder.com, there is no time like the present to learn about this awesome resource for bringing loving people one step closer to finding a furry (or not so furry) companion!

Today I found a shelter that is in desperate need of finding homes for  abandoned kitties; Bay State Animal Cooperative in Norwood, Massachusetts.   The phone number is (781)769-9238.

Today's stray is Butternut.  Look at this little face!
From the site:
"Butternut is a young adult DSH orange male kitty. He is a real sweetheart who purrs at the drop of a hat. He is friendly and gentle and loving. Butternut would make a wonderful addition to a cat loving family."
I am hoping to start a new trend among my loving fellow bloggers.  Will you please help me help them?
Remember, even if you cannot help the animal in need you can forward the information to someone who can.  There are volunteers waiting to transport animals to safe, loving homes across the country!  Don't let these bundles of love die waiting!
Spread the word!  There are THOUSANDS of animals in every state, in every country, waiting for someone like YOU to save them and love them forever!

  3. Andie this is a wonderful thing to do. I wish I could bring every last one of them home. I pray that people will get their animals fixed so that fewer animals will be in shelters. I also pray that all those sweet animals find good homes.....this breaks my heart!I'm going to do everything I can to help. Vanna

  5. Wonderful Post Andie... Butternut reminds me of my Boys... Morris and Rusty... who "adopted" us and claimed our acreage as their own territory! *smiles* We have placed several strays and ferals that we could not keep ourselves and it always seems like an uphill battle because there are so many, but all we can do is our small parts to make a difference... and that makes all the difference to 'that one' with a Happy ending. Lets Hope this precious one finds a wonderful Home where he is pampered and loved!

  6. Thanks for stopping by. Pregnancy Food !?!? Are Congratulations in order ??? :-D
I am pet free right now - allergy issues. However, I have had many cats (my choice of pets) and a few dogs over the years.
Enjoy your weekend and stay warm.

  7. I will pass this is on. All my animals have been rescues wither through a group or I just rescue them myself. Many cats through the years and several dogs too.
Right now we have 4 cats and 2 dogs and a house outside my front door for the one who will never come near us.

  8. I wish I could take care of more animals but I have my hands full now. I always had {except for my old yorkie} used dogs. Dogs people don't want anymore. They were and are my best pets!

  9. All I ask is that you help me spread the word. I am currently harboring five animals over the legal limit! Spread the word! Make Petfinders available to everyone you know! They NEED us! (...and we need them).

  10. Wow, what timing - I am illustrating a cat who survived the life of his owner - a heroine addict who sold the kittens to feed the addiction. The poor cat landed in a :swell: home and is now living....a better life.
    so sad so many animals...abandoned.

  13. I'm so sorry to hear that you have had a series of terrible, awful days. In reality, my Blog is a welcome distraction from many of the challenges we are up against and trying to move through with Grace. Today my old Soldier had to be admitted to the VA Hospital AGAIN... so the rollercoaster ride of good days and terrible, awful ones mingled together can leave one quite exhausted and down if you don't have a release that uplifts you. May you find that release that brings you untold Joy as you move through your difficult days.

  14. Me again... wasn't sure if I was going to share this... but decided I will since you had said the picture of my Bro and I brought you a happy sad emotion. Why his visit and upcoming Birthday was SO very special is that just over a decade ago he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and Docs told his Fiance' and our Parents to make funeral arrangements for him. I told him that you're not dead 'til GOD says so... and here he is, over a decade later... AND this visit he was walking again... he has battled being quadrapalegic and parapalegic off and on for years and was wheelchair bound for a very long time. God is good... our lives are Gifts... to ourselves and to others... I cherish each day I and all those I care about are given and make the best of them regardless of circumstances and what grim 'prognosis' are sometimes given by the World. Love Ya Darlin and Hope this helps? Dawn... The Bohemian
