Craigslist QUEEN!

Merry Christmas to all my Blog friends!

We are delighted this day to be participating in the emergency rescue of an Alaskan Husky, named Donner, to be transported to a shelter where he will receive a bath, medical care, lots and lots of love!
Eventually he will be placed for adoption with a loving family.
I will post a photo at the end of the day.

Isn't that what we all want?  What we all need?
To be loved?

Speaking of which...

Please watch this video and be inspired!

Student turns to Craigslist to rent a family for the holidays...
Have your tissues ready.

I was going to post photos of our home, decked for the Holidays but this is definitely more significant.

You can see my house any old time!

Be of good cheer!

  2. Andie, no bragging and wanting no sympathy for my story...since early childhood, my parents and I were always bringing home "people"...for the holidays, for a meal, for a cook-out...showing hospitality and love the way Jesus taught us. One of my best memories is my first year at college, more than four decades ago, and a classmate couldn't afford to go home for Christmas. Mom and Daddy said, "bring her" and when we all woke up Christmas morning, she had gifts under the tree! She was so surprised but that's how Mom and Daddy were and still are...they see a need and they provide as God allows.
Since then there have been many people at our table and farm for holidays, for weekends, for celebrations or simply because they needed sanctuary and peaace. What's so sad is, only one of those people have remembered me since Dave died. It breaks my heart because I thought better of them and just goes to strengthen what Dave always told me, "Your expectations are too high" and then he'd add, "Charlie Brown".
    Thankfully, I have Jesus.
Merry Christmas, dearest, to you and your loved ones.

  4. When I first found you (before I even had a blog, I think?) obviously I shared your Craigslist affinity, but more than that, I loved that you loved animals. It's the best trait anyone can have.
    MERRY Christmas! xoxo

  5. Merry Christmas, Andie to you, Handsome Husband and Gracie!

I love your kindness to animals, your amazing creativity, your passion, and your, apparently, boundless energy.

If you can fund a moment, come visit me again. I've posted LOTS of really interesting stuff related entirely to CHRISTMAS in many different ways. I think you'd find at least some of it appealing and very worthwhile.

Abundant blessing to you and yours in the New Year!

  9. Oh wow! Yes, tears are rolling down my face and I so remember your story, so I guess it's so close to your heart, my friend. I've been so busy, but didn't want to spend this 2013 C'mas holidays without wishing you, your daughter and husband a wonderful, happy and blessed 2014 and hopping you had a wonderful C'mas.
    Hugs,
    FABBY
PS: I do want to feast my eyes with your gorgeous home too, pal!

  10. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I am an animal lover, so thank you all!!! I once read that pet shelters get extremely busy after the holidays when people bring in animals that were given as gifts. It's so sad.
    Happy 2014 ahead!
